I’ve made it 10 months of reading a book every month. I’ve never been good at keeping resolutions, but this one seemed to stick! October was a month I didn’t think I would get a book in. It actually took me all of October and half of September. On the last night of October I stayed up way past my bedtime (read: 10pm) and finished the book. It was the first hardcover book I have read in SO long. I took the book from my mom when I was home in September and it turned out to be better than I expected. The book was called The Friendship Test and it was written by Elizabeth Noble. On the back cover there is another book that she has written called The Reading Group and I think I might pick up that book and start reading it.
Overall I enjoyed the book, it followed four friends throughout their friendship and the tests that they were thrown. It started a little slower trying to get to know all the characters, but once I realized who everyone was it was easier to read. I had no idea what was going to happen as I read each chapter and I think that made it more enjoyable.
It’s time to start my November book and hopefully I can knock one out before December. The months feel like they are getting shorter and I don’t have enough time to read. I have been trying to get in bed 1/2 an hour or an hour earlier and reading until I fall asleep. It’s an easier way to unwind after a long day at work, but sometimes I’m just to tired. I highly doubt I can keep up this kick once I start busy season, but I’m gonna try!
