Friday Favorites

Sorry for no post Wednesday, that seems to happen around here sometimes. I have been working really hard to keep posting every M/W/F. For the most part I stick true, but with getting back into the swing of things at school it totally slipped my mind!! I have decided to do a new thing on Fridays. Every Friday I will post my favorites from the week (don’t hold me to it though ;)).

– My Favorite Ecard > Some of those reading will know what this ecard relates to, but every time I see it I can’t help but crack up!

– My Favorite Pin > http://pinterest.com/pin/256142297528291868/ It is on how to organize your bills and since I have a real person job next year, this is going to be VERY important for my survival.

– My Favorite Song > I am loving this song playlist currently http://8tracks.com/jennaling/red-deluxe-edition . I am loving the Red album and can’t stop listening to it. Every time I need to sit down and get to work, I put this playlist on and get cranking.

– My Favorite Food > I made a simple pasta salad this past weekend with my new hot plate so I had some food for the week. Who doesn’t love a good pasta salad. Maybe I will put up a recipe post next week about it!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Pondered Thoughts

This past weekend as I switched my contacts over in my phone I thought about all the phone numbers of people who I do not speak to anymore. I am not someone who cares how many phone contacts I have because to be honest I probably only speak to about 10 people from those contacts. It was interesting though to see who all the people were whose contact information would not be making it to my new phone.

Since I got my last phone just a year after I started college I was still in touch with many of my high school friends. Now four years out of high school and I cannot say the same is true. Many of the contacts that didn’t make it over were those of people from high school. It is sad to think of the people who didn’t make it into the iPhone. I was however reminded of all of the good times that were had and how as life moves forward it is bound to happen that some may be left behind. Everyone grows and sometimes the person who you were four years ago is not the person you are today and that is okay.

In my case, I am content with where I am in life. I am excited for the future, but not sad about the past. It happened and each and every my contact did have an impact on my life. Sometimes I think about what it would be like if I still talked to many of those people and I can’t even imagine what it would be like. It is funny how sometimes people walk into your lives for a time and then walk out.

Well enough of a rant about the past, this week marks the beginning of my last two weeks in my fall semester and a busy two weeks they will be. I have multiple group projects and a couple of term papers to write. Wish me luck!

Friday Roundup

Yesterday:

Thanksgiving is always a good time. I had been waiting to tell my family about my future plans and let me tell you it has been very hard to keep this all to myself for the past couple of weeks. About two months ago I let you all know I was applying to jobs and hoping for the best, then a month ago I let you know I had had some interviews and was going to a follow-up interview at an office. I am happy to say that now two months after the process began I have gotten a job. I signed my offer a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t be more happy! Granted now there is so much to think about in terms of preparing for the fall. Anyways I told my family yesterday so I could share the news here now. Thanksgiving was spent at my Aunt and Uncles house and everyone in the family was there, it is very rare that we all get to be in the same place at the same time so it was a lot of fun. We ate early and by 5pm almost everyone was in a food coma.

Today:

I plan to spend today clawing my way through the crowds at Walmart and Target. All I really want is some cheap movies to add to my collection. This afternoon my family has plans for some awesome family pictures! More on that to come later. I didn’t like the way my senior photos came out at school so I plan to have some solo shots taken.  Lastly tonight I am babysitting my cousins while my Aunt and Uncle go to a wedding.

Tomorrow:

Tomorrow will be spent in a car on the way back to Maryland. My Uncle and Aunt who live an hour away from school are going back home tomorrow so I decided that it would be better to save some money and catch a ride with them. This also gives me the opportunity to get an extra shift in at work on Sunday. I have plans to go to the grocery store and stock up on some essentials to make dinners in the coming weeks before finals begin!

Welcome to the Jungle

My mom’s status the other day said she had welcome to the jungle stuck in her head and what a better time to use that name as a blog post title. This past week I celebrated 200 days until graduation and the theme was Into the Wild. Mary texted me early Saturday morning and asked if I wanted to grab bagels and then head to the library after. On our way home we realized the library doesn’t open until noon and it wasn’t noon yet so we decided to hit up the liquor store to grab some necessary items to make jungle juice for the Into The Wild theme. By the time we got back to school the library still wasn’t open so we headed to the business school to get some work done.

After a nap, and a shower we were ready to start our celebration. I actually forgot to charge my camera so I could take some pictures to share. Instead I have some grainy blackberry pictures, some instagram photos and some other muploads. During senior 250s they had some food and the arena was decorated in Olympics themed. This time there was a french fry bar and the arena was decorated along the lines with the wild theme. There was a giant fake tiger, I actually saw someone try to get on top and get yelled at. I had asked to borrow some shirts from my summer job and luckily enough they came in handy. Liz and I dressed as tacky tourists on a safari in the wild. Continue reading

Apple

I am a big fan of apple products and if asked I would recommend them to anyone. Obviously they run on the pricey side, but in my opinion if it lasts for a long time why not splurge? The reason I bring it up is because by next week I will have joined the iPhone world. I heard early last week that the iPhone 4 was free because the 5 had just come out. So I checked into it and decided that I wanted to get it. After I did some more research I found out my dad had an upgrade that gave us a credit. I switched upgrade dates with my dad (mine is in January) and decided to splurge and get the iPhone 4s. With the credit we had it was exceptionally lower in price than even what it had been this past summer. I am beyond excited to join the iPhone family and finally be able to play around with all the apps on it. Get ready to facetime all the time Thomas and Michael 😉

As for my other Apple products, I will still be using my iPods all the time and will not give up my Mac. I will be in need of a new one soon, but am going to hold out for a while. I have had my computer for 4 years now and it still works fine so I know if I do decide to get a new one, my current computer will be given down to my brothers to do what they choose. I thought about getting rid of my computer and just getting an iPad, but I realized I don’t want that and I really have no need for an iPad at least at the moment that is.

Do you have any favorite apps?
